Acknowledging, understanding and accepting the fact that we all feel fear is probably the best (perhaps the only, really) way to overcome it – thus, enabling ourselves to open up to love in its pristine and unconditional nature. Otherwise, talk is cheap and one can play games and bear the consequences. We have the choice, and such a choice is made each day, each moment and with each breath we take in this privileged human existence! Only the best to all!!! Rubens

Geez. I must be in fear/love limbo then. *sigh*

    Fear Joneses. Spectacular statement! :)

As someone who has approached life from an unconditional love perspective, one thing I have learned is that while love may be unconditional, relationships are necessarily conditional. To think otherwise, to behave otherwise, is to invite being walked on and to think that walking away is not an option, which means choice in what we will allow or who will be with is lost.

    http://www.facebook.com/ClairePrideaux
In other words, you can be fearless (and all the other characteristics that describe love instead of fear) and allow unnecessary drama and suffering in your life if whomever you are with are not capable of or willing to engage you in the same place. People are where they are and they must be met there. Then, it is up to you to determine whether engaging them is something you want to do.

As crazy Joe Davola once said, fear is our most primal emotion.

Great post! Totally true. But it doesn’t mean that NO negative “stuff” will come into your life. It depends on how you deal with the negativity – Use the Love!

I’m still in fear. I want to but I know that I don’t trust yet.

    http://www.facebook.com/MichaelSchulze
Same here JS. Of all the damage done by others losing the ability to trust was the worst.

    http://www.facebook.com/LauraBaderMcCollum
I too, am right there with both of you JS and MS. I think for me, I’m not sure I believe that there is that one ‘true love’ out there. I don’t trust the idea of it . . . once bitten twice shy as they say . . .

LBM…I wish I had only been bitten once…but bad memories fade, and I refuse to let the actions of others make me afraid of a better future.

This is awesome!!! A warm thanks for allowing us to share also!

I just wish humans really understood this….unfortunately it is not the case for most of them. They keep on playing the game of fear and that is what ruins everything.

There will always be people looking to prey on our weaknesses. We have to love ourselves first, and take the time to recognize and accept our vulnerabilities, despite how scary and painful and humbling it is. This can only be done alone, not with someone else as a crutch for our ego. It’s not loneliness. It’s not boredom. It’s peace.

I usually embrace your posts but I’m not completely sold on this one. For one , fear is not weak unless you allow it to paralyze you. If handled wisely, fear can prevent you from repeating the same mistakes and allowing yourself to be exposed. Only when you allow fear to take over your common sense and the wisdom you’ve acquired through past experiences do you hinder your quest for happiness. My two cents on the subjects.
