as i embark on the long-planned trip of a lifetime
to Scotland {and perhaps beyond}
with my father (john watson bruce) &
my sister (tracy THE bruce) ~
i revisited a recent favorite
TINY buddha article post called
3 lessons from traveling that lead to everyday happiness
i decided to backward engineer and apply the principles
mentioned in the article {and practiced in my daily life}
to this fantastic voyage.
.
for many people,
those 3 traveling lessons
in the Tiny Buddha article
might sound simpler and be easier
when they are not at home…
but ironically for me
{in my past travels
to incredible locales
with various people}
i haven’t entirely
been able to execute
these elementary exercises.
.
there was often
much expectation
and circumstance
and fear
injected and
imposed and
intertwined and
twisted
upon the situation and
the trip.
.
so here are my ~
3 Lessons from my everyday happiness that will lead to my fantastic traveling…
i will:
1. become and remain flexible
2. breathe in and enjoy moments of awe
3. now let go and move on
.
in a few days i am flying off
into the wild wooly yonder
of northern scotland
{and hopefully beyond}.
.
see you on the lighter side~sb
I’m glad you’re back with tiny Buddha, the advise for traveling sounds sensible and sane. Have missed seeing it on FB for several (?) weeks. Love, Auntie Mary Ann
May you adventure to Scotland with family be filled with joy, provide you with long lasting memories and you will remain in my prayers for safe travels. W
