i think this is really great news & a worthwhile use for that ever-present iPhone.
Twenty-plus years ago i had bio-feedback training at a chronic pain management clinic and today i still use what i learned for relaxation and refocusing my attention.
I hope this new technology might allow us some de-stressing yang (bright, active, upward, expanding) to start balancing out so much technological yin (dark, constant, downward, contracting) in our lives… and i’m feeling the ॐ (Ohm) already.
While it may seem that most technology leads us away from the tiny beauties around us, with a device like this perhaps it will enable, train and encourage us to attain our own inner peace & calm and eventually help us tap into that Big Beyond.
Over the years, i have analyzed, explored, engineered and mobilized my technology and recently i have harnessed and synchronized it to simplify and balance many things in my effort/yin ~ calm/yang life.
From what i have read, what i personally know and have experienced, about this kind of therapy, an XWave type apparatus and app could allow us one small, yet significant and simple, step that we can take toward focusing attention and enhancing relaxation via our ever-smart iDevices.
With practice, perhaps one day we won’t need keypads or headsets to control our devices ~ just our minds… today, that sounds very sci-fi, but tomorrow, who knows what our devices will be able to detect or what we will be able to do on our own. it is actually a rather pleasant thought for me. in the meantime, i can’t wait to try this mind-blowing gadget.~sb

New iphone headset allows you to control objects just by thought | Great News Network
Grounded in medical research, a new headset connected to an iPhone allows you to improve your ability to meditate and concentrate by safely detecting your brain’s electrical pulses. For years, this technology has been used by doctors to treat epilepsy and seizures in patients. The headset senses the faintest electrical impulses transmitted through your skull to the surface of your forehead and converts these analog signals into digital signals.
The XWave headset from California-based company PLX Devices senses your attention and meditation levels and allows you to train your mind to sharpen your attention span and improve your ability to meditate.
The device comes bundled with the XWave app that includes a number of exercises aimed at training your brain. Objectives include levitating a ball on the iDevice’s screen, changing a color based on the relaxation level of your brain and training your brain to maximize its attention span.
Whether it is relaxation, brain training, entertainment, games, social networking, sports, sleep, the possibilities are endless with the XWave hardware device. Some of the applications that are being developed at the moment will allow you to play games by controlling objects with your mind, control the lights in your home or select the type of music through your iPod based on your mood.-Great News Network

“The human brain is the most powerful, complex thing in the universe, and for the first time, we’re able to harness its amazing power and connect it to everyday technology,”- Paul Lowchareonkul, Founder and CEO of PLX Devices Inc.
