YAY ~ i have chosen my EVENING GOWN (Dalia MacPhee), i have my PLUS ONE (Russell Baer); i plan to have my HAIR coifed (Robert Bachelor). We are enthused to announce the fourth of four 2011 national scholarships awarded through Beckstrand Cancer Foundation to help create a better future for college bound teens with cancer! Attending: UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles); Studying: Pre-Medicine/Pediatrics; Cancer Diagnosis: Ovarian Cancer. Essay Excerpt: Before cancer, I had never seen children struggle to save their lives before. I can remember the screams of the youngest kids that echoed my own inward pleas. I only remember thinking, I wish I could heal them…I have felt the terror of being the patient, but I hope to one day be on the other side of the equation. – Alexandra Munoz [READ MORE]

Essay Excerpt: Cancer is a horrible disease. Experiencing cancer changes the way you look at life and people and makes you realize that you must stay as positive and as strong as you possibly can. our BIG billboards helping raise awareness & money for kids, teens & families with cancer
We are very excited that our billboards featuring Eva La Rue are finally going up this week in the greater Los Angeles area. They will stay up for 4 weeks (unless there is a paid advertiser that bumps us, if that happens, we will be moved to another location). Overall, they will continue to cycle our boards for one year! again, we give huge thanks to everyone who helped us on our PSA campaign to help families & kids with cancer. {MORE}

Changing lives – Kids with Cancer who dream of attending college
THANKS Causes•com & to everyone donating to my Help Kids With Cancer National Scholarship fund at my birthday cause! We raised over $2000 ($1475 online + checks sent directly to the foundation). People are making decisions to donate and this will change someone’s life – a Kid with Cancer who dreams of attending college and just needs a little, hope, help and encouragement to get there.
